Nashville: A Guide

I have a feeling that some of you may be wondering what’s up with me lately (especially if you follow me on social media). Does this girl live on Cape Cod? Wait, now she’s in California? Hold on, I’m confused, Nashville?! Yeah, I guess I’ll explain now. As I’ve likely said on various social media platforms, I work as a sessional lobbyist in Connecticut. Their legislative session only occurs a few months out of the year; January – June in odd years and February – May in off years. That being said, I finished my time in Connecticut on June 30th, and will begin working there again at the start of the next legislative session. During my time off, I have decided to travel as much as possible. A few years ago, while in Greece for a few weeks, I vowed to myself that I would see more of the United States before I traveled anywhere else abroad. I have made it my goal to see all fifty states, and what better way to do that than with a road trip?! Continue reading “Nashville: A Guide”

My “This” List

Over the summer, a very good friend of mine published a blog post about her “this” list. I had never heard of this concept before, and I was really intrigued by it. She began her post by explaining that she had been experiencing a lot of moments where she found herself realizing she was pursuing things that she wasn’t interested in – she was having “not this” moments. In order to inspire herself to keep up her search of the things she was interested in doing and the things she was meant to pursue, she made a “this” list and challenged her readers to do the same! To me, this was such a great idea. As I was reading her post, I found myself physically nodding in agreement when she explained her reoccurring not this moments. So, because I love her & her idea (and I’ll use any excuse to make a list), here’s mine! Continue reading “My “This” List”

So Into It: Middle School Music

In my last So Into It post, I talked about maybe making a middle school music version. For those of you who may not know what I’m talking about, I’ll explain. When I was in about seventh or eighth grade, I was really into alternative music. Bands like All Time Low, A Day to Remember, Boys Like Girls, Mayday Parade, Cartel, and so on. I still love listening to these songs all the time, because it reminds me of the good ole days where I was obese, didn’t understand how girls got their hair so flat (update: I later figured out they used a magic tool called a hair straightener) and thought Abercrombie was important. So, in case you’re missing these days, too, I made an all-inclusive list of all of the best middle school songs for you!  Continue reading “So Into It: Middle School Music”

So, as some of you OG followers might remember, I’ve been doing an off-and-on mini series called So Into It. Though I’ve developed an interest for blogging about advice, I still want to tell you guys a little bit about my interests, too! For this reason, I decided to make a San Diego version of this series! Continue reading “So Into It: San Diego Edition”

‘Cause I’m Hot & I’m Dancing

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset
When I was a senior in high school, I went to the gym everyday for roughly four months and I lost eighty-five pounds. Once I felt comfortable with my body and my appearance, I stopped going to the gym as often. For the last couple of months, it was rare if I even made time to go once a week. I get so bored while I’m working out sometimes, and I get easily discouraged when I don’t see instant results. So, I knew I needed to try something new.  Continue reading “‘Cause I’m Hot & I’m Dancing”

I’ve been feeling a little discouraged from the blogging scene lately, and I’ve considered ending my journey multiple times. I hate the feeling of mediocracy, which is the current state of this blog in my opinion – as well as a few other things in my life. But I’ve never been a quitter. So, I thought the best way to get back into it would be to post a So Into ItContinue reading “BACK INTO IT”
